I don’t feature a lot of graffiti, because most of the graffiti here is just tagging. This one caught my though. This is from the colonia Santa Cruz, not too far from my house.

Another spiral staircase in a church bell tower. I can’t help it, I’m just drawn to shooting pictures of certain objects, rocks, spirals, horses in water, etc.

“First the gods tried to make men out of mud, but they just stood there, did not reproduce and did not talk, and when it rained they were washed away. Next they fashioned them out of sticks and wood. These creatures moved and reproduced, but they could not talk; they only chattered and did not give thanks to the gods so they were banished to the forest where they became the monkeys.” –Popul Vuh

A fishing village that is to judge from which roll I found it in, is near St. John’s Newfoundland.

Caplin

In Newfoundland every year the caplin (small sardine-like fish) come into the shallows to spawn. Besides being the start of another fishing season, it is also time to get the caplin. You can see the water in the shallows churning when they are spawning and to catch them you just wade in and scoop them out by the hand full. Norm and I got enough for dinner in just a few minutes. Yes, those are icebergs in the background and yes it’s VERY cold. I remember not being able to feel my feet.

It was kind of grey and cold today here, so I stayed inside and scanned. I’m starting to figure out how to use these; poco a poco.
This is from the Alexander Graham Bell Museum in Nova Scotia, one of our favorite stops up there. Besides the telephone, Bell also experimented with boats and kites (he was interested in using them as airplanes). This is one of his large tetrahedral kites.
